Boat insurance - Safe boater's drive for cheap boat insurance quotes

Boating season is upon us and every year, during the boating season, roughly 8,000,000 recreational boaters venture out on Canada's waterways. The Canadian Safe Boating
Council of Canada is promoting "Safe Boating Awareness Week." This program has been designed to educate people on boat, water and personal safety to prevent fatal and non-fatal boating accidents.

On Saturday, May 17, 2008, the launch of Safe Boating Awareness Week began.

Every boating season over 16 million Canadians head out on to Canadian waters and statistics from the CBSC show us that 49 of the public or 3 million people are operators of a power boat?

Boat operators under the age of 16 years old are bound by an "Age-horsepower restriction" this rule prohibits operators from operating pleasure craft above specified horsepower limits. These restrictions do not apply when an operator under the age 16 is accompanied by person 16 years and older.

These restrictions also prohibit all persons under the age of 16 years old from operating personal watercraft (Seadoo) regardless of whether they are accompanied by an adult. "Boater's must be over 16 years of age and possess a watercraft operator’s card in order to drive a PWC."

Below are the guidelines posted for age restriction on the Canadian Safe Boaters Council website, for more information visit: http://www.csbc.ca

Q: Under 12 years of age, and not directly supervised**

With your support, we can continue to reduce the number of recreational boating fatalities and help to save lives.
