Pontoon Boat Cleaning

First things first -  get the boat cleaned up. Before you start any major pontoon boat repair or pontoon furniture replacement,  you need to do a thorough cleaning first.   Or if you're just getting ready for the summer boating season, now is the best time to do a thorough pontoon cleaning.  

We will get into more detail below, but in general your entire pontoon boat should be cleaned thoroughly.  Start with a broom to brush off any debris from the cover such as leaves, twigs, etc.  Get a hose and scrub brush for the with some good pontoon cleaning products.  The pontoon cover should be hosed off and any stained areas with dirt or debris should be washed with a brush to clean those areas.  The pontoon cover should be hung over a clothes line and allowed to dry for several hours before folding and storing. Next wipe down the interior with a damp cloth and some good cleaning solution.  Your local boat or marine shop should carry the right type of products.  Then the pontoon carpet can be vacuumed with the garage style vacuum. Wash any stains or spots with some spray cleaning solution.  If needed, the carpet can be hosed down and allowed to dry.
